Seven Road Trip Hacks for the CAR

The holidays will be here soon, and if you are planning a road trip, the best thing to do is the plan. Road trips can be memories filled with bonding time with the family but also a lot of work.  If you want to avoid all that extra stress and anxiety, read our road trip hacks.

Create a roadmap

Put places to stop to sightsee, eat, and stay. When everyone knows what is happening, then you can avoid the ARE WE THERE YET, questions. Also, you can send an itinerary to the family so that everyone knows what the plan is for the road trip.

Keep devices charged

Kids need to be doing something other than sleeping in the car to make sure the phones, iPad, Kindle, and other electronics are fully charged when they leave the house. Make sure to charge while in the car too. Nothing sours a road trip faster than devices that are dead! Just being honest. Keep a box of chargers, batteries, earphones, and plugins for emergencies that will happen.

Limit the Toys

No need to add to the clutter in the car. Each person should have a bag or box for their stuff. If it doesn’t fit in the bag, then it needs to be left at home or put in the trunk.

What works is those back seat pockets that go over the front seats.  Kids can put so much stuff in those things. Use them!

Make A Snack Box for Everyone!

Of course, kids love to snack but so do adults. Use a small craft organizer with a lid and fill it with snacks like crackers, fruit, trail mix, and other items that are easy to eat and won’t make a mess.

Trash Can

There will be TRASH! So, grab one of those plastic cereal containers at the dollar store put a plastic bag inside, and keep extra ones in the glove compartment.

Get Trays

Having a tray to eat on, color on, or just put things on while you are on the road trip is essential. It will stop things from falling and keep everything in front of you. Stop the food from falling into your lap or the floor. You can get trays from the dollar store too.

NEW CAR

Alright now you have some hack ideas for your road trip but what about a new car too…nothing is better than a clean working car to make sure the road trip goes smooth.
