Technology has helped me and made things worse with my work/life balance. If I need to go somewhere and have a project that needs to be done, I see what I can do on my Galaxy Note while riding (not driving) in the car or when I get some time to work. My daughter is homeschooled, so she loves to work at TARGET so, of course, I bring my phone and Kindle while she works on the laptop. We are a TECH family, so we are always on our phones or computers and yes I do realize that is not good, so we are going to do some adjustments for the new year.
- No phones at dinner (home and out to eat)
- Weekly Family Game Night (no phones allowed either)
- Set Blogging schedule/times on the phone
- Plan everything and include in phone and computer
- Get outside more without the phone attached to me!
I’m consistently checking my email or phone while on the computer- way too much time wasted. I need to learn how to focus and set time limits on my devices. Then I also have to apply the same rules to my kids, who live on their phones. As a parent, I need to set a better example.
I do believe technology can hinder my productivity, but I need to be cautious and set limits or timers! I need to get off the phone and spend time reading, writing, and playing games then I might feel a better balance happening, I know I need to do that!

I can honestly say technology is a CURSE but also a BLESSING so as long as you try to achieve a balance then it’s all good!
Please leave me a comment on how has technology helped you achieve better or worse work/life balance.
